I heard there is a ghost town in Michigan named Podunk
Maybe someone named it that when they were drunk
If you pass through it there is not much there
It's just a podunk town in the middle of nowhere
The people in Podunk were pretty plain and proper
They pledged to do their part to make Podunk prosper
Each Podunk person stayed put where they were planted
They made a point to make Podunk the perfect place on the planet
All that remains of it today is this little ghost town
There was a dance hall there but they must have tore it down
I'm not even sure if any Podunkians remain
I guess Podunk was too expensive to remain
Why Podunk didn't flourish is a real pity
I guess Podunkians all moved to the big city
