We need more than mere belief
For the godly will suffer
We can't avoid times of grief
That hour when there's no relief
God searches for overcomers
A word not spoken much of
Yet Jesus mentioned it often
We hear messages about love
Sermons like a harmless dove
The Word of the Lord they soften
In Revelation two and three
See the Christian's greater call
Overcoming is the key
Then we will truly be free
We will takeoff and not stall
Overcomers in the land
Who are not living double lives
Who obey God's command
Built on the rock and not sand
That is the heart God revives
