Guitar Gorilla

I walked into a restaurant 

I heard this guitar solo

When I saw who was on the stage

I had to take a photo

I saw this gigantic gorilla 

He was playing the electric guitar

He was smoking a cigarette

Like he was at a dive bar

I said "Hey Mr. Gorilla

Won't you please come over?"

But he just ignored me

Playing the "Cliffs of Dover"

I thought "Wow he can play

But can this gorilla sing?"

Then he just stated jammin

To the "Sultans of Swing"

If I told my friends about this

They would think I'm insane

I slapped and pinched myself 

As he strummed "Purple Rain"

If a band needs a guitarist 

This gorilla they need to hire 

Though he barely fits on a stool 

Next to his Fender amplifier 

He didn't mind the spotlight 

He was comfortable on that stage

He performed "Sweet Child of Mine"

Then he played "Turn the Page"

He finished his long setlist 

With U2's 'Elevation"

Then the crowd went wild

They gave a standing ovation

He stomped out his cigarette 

He gave a humble bow

I was blown away by this ape

All I could say was "Wow!"
